BBC: The Chinese Are Coming

Newsnight’s Justin Rowlatt investigates & documents some of the impacts resulting from globalisation and the Chinese nation/people’s business activities in developing countries around the world, such as Africa & South America – including the impact of their activities upon both the natural environment, as well as upon the economies of countries such as the US & Europe. Rowlatt’s documentary is epic in scope & provides rare insights into the practical situation on the ground, covering a number of urgent/important issues (both positive & negative) that are having to be dealt with. Of the two programs shown so far (out of a total of three), episode 2 covering China’s impact on industry in Rio and the Amazonian environment is probably the most fascinating – and concerning.
